Production’ did all for their insanely talented ward – invited on the creation of arrangements to songs by famous artists, including Ray J, J-Kwon and Bee, and also helped Marie appeared in the “Fox 2 Morning Show” and “UPN 50 Sports Rap”. In October 2003, the label released Marie’s first album, “Get Away“, which featured several songs (which are no longer on any album) in addition to the title track. “Get Away” got a little, local, popularity.
When Marie was 16 years old, Big Mike decided it was time to move on – to start a serious singing career of a young Rhythm-and-Blues diva. Candy Tux, a friend of Big Mike, helped Marie meet with a music industry veteran, Daryl Simmons, in Atlanta, Georgia. Daryl listened to the demo with producer Antonio “L. A.” Reid from Def Jam, and after listening to Marie live Antonio was ready to sign a contract and start a fruitful cooperation with the newly minted star.
Teairra worked with Jay-Z on her first collaborative project with Def Jam Records. Thus was born the track “Make Her Feel Good“.
For the second single “No Daddy” was filmed a video that MTV added in the rotation – the clip was a commercial success!
After the release of the third single, “Phone Booth“, the singer became a member of various music videos.
Marie’s first full-length album, “Roc-a-Fella Presents: Teairra Mari“, was released in 2005. The album took 5th place in the album chart top 200 according to “Billboard” and became the second in the chart of the best R&B/hip-hop albums.
